Efficient, confidential dispute resolution services focusing on both process and outcome
ABOUT
Rebecca Houlding
As a neutral mediator, I bring decades of employment law and civil rights experience to help parties evaluate the risks of litigation and strength of claims and defenses. My goal is to facilitate constructive discussions around difficult and sometimes intractable-seeming problems, to allow parties to discuss the concerns that are most important to them and to provide a confidential forum for creative solutions. I have the background and temperament to communicate effectively with employees, as well as the knowledge to evaluate claims and discuss critical issues with employers. Fostering trust with the mediator and among parties is essential for reaching amicable - or at least voluntary - resolutions. I work to foster trust with all involved.

MY
Mediation Experience
Rebecca Houlding has been mediating cases as a neutral since 2018, including with the Mediation Center of the Pacific, and as a panel mediator for the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She taught in the Mediation Clinic at New York Law School, mentoring students mediating cases in Small Claims court. She is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Employment Panel. She has trained with the Harvard Program on Negotiation and the Mediation Center of the Pacific.

MY
Mediation Services
I offer a neutral and collaborative environment to help parties find common ground. My experience includes mediating employment discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour and other employment related disputes under Title VII, 42 USC 1981, 42 USC 1983, the New York State and City Human Rights Laws, the ADA, the ADEA, FLSA and the NYLL. I am available to mediate in-person or virtually. As an experienced practitioner, I understand that schedules change. I offer flexible cancellation/rescheduling policies. I also understand that it is important to find the right mediator: I am available to speak with counsel about my mediation approach and whether I would be a good fit for your client’s needs.
